Another Cool Band!!!

the boy least likely to!!!

They have been making music for a while, but I was just introduced to them. This video has Rashida Jones (Karen from The Office) in it! It is also cute and funny! Check it out!

My new favorite band...

...is Arrah and the Ferns.

I am getting a banjo tomorrow. It's my unbelievably awesome Christmas present! I really want to incorporate banjo and ukulele in my band with Miss Martinez. Which reminds me... Sorry! That was meant to be a mental side-note. Recording should start sometime after the 25th of December, and hopefully the EP will be out in not too long. My side project will get a little more attention until then. (Is it really a side project if my main project has only barely started? Ha!)

I'll continue to let you know how everything is going!

AVATAR... I have no idea what to expect!

I will be attending the midnight viewing of James Cameron's Avatar tonight...tomorrow morning...Friday...

I have mixed feelings going into this film. Part of me thinks it will suck like a $2 whore whom I gave $20, and the other part of me thinks it will be an enjoyable movie with thrills and laughs and all that stuffz the ads always say these movies have, and the third part of me just wants to find that whore (because I'm getting paid this weekend).

Anyway, since I may crank up the amount by which I critique games and movie and such, I will probably state what I thought of the film later in the weekend. I hope you are ready to listen!

For now, check bellow for Silhouettes by Swimming With Dolphins! I hope you enjoy as much as I do! ^_^

Sayonara!

Some Cool Things To Start Back Up The Blogging!

So, I am going to try to update more, so first here are some cool stuffs:

(1)

Swimming With Dolphins is the side project of Adam Young from Owl City. Silhouettes is a great single, combining a serene trance beat with smooth, sentimental lyrics and a strong melody. The other songs on the EP didn't excite me as much as this track, but they are still great. They seemed stand out as Owl City meets Daft Punk. Give them a listen.

DO IT!!!!!

Halo: Reach Trailer

I have yet to play Halo: ODST (It is a shame, I know), but that doesn't mean I can't pitch a tent for this little beauty right here! Reach looks great, though... I am not sure what kind of game it will be... or if it will be fun... But, I mean, it has to be BALLS-TO-THE-WALL-AWESOME, right?

Well, that is it for now! Time to go play Resistance: Fall Of Man.

Yeah, so this semester...

... kept me crazy busy, and I have now idea what is going on it the world!!!

Well, hopefully I will update more over winter... possibly learn how to make my own webpage, for my art and music and such!

Well, I am off to work on a paper!

TAKE THAT GAMESTOP!!!!!

YAY, Best Buy!!! I knew I liked shopping at you for a reason!

Right now, it is just a trail run in West Jordan, Utah, but Best Buy is going to start taking their NEW games and price match them with Gamestop's USED games! Sweet! I do not like Gamestop, mostly because they rip people off with game trade-ins (just like universities do with used books), but also because managers tend to be douche bags... But it is great to see some healthy competition in the game sales realm! Let's hope this makes Gamestop think twice about how they run theirs stores...and train their managers.

BUSY!!

Yeah...so, between graduate orientation and dealing with a pseudo-car accident, I haven't had time to post cool/horribly lame stuff and praise/complain about it. But, hopefully I will update soon!

Oh, and also, I have been watching The Office. I cannot believe I have been missing out on that show. It is brilliant, and--I think--it has taught me how to handle intensely awkward situations I encounter in real life. I went to the bank to get some paper work notarized, and the woman in line ahead of me was rather disgruntled, and I was waiting for it to get out of hand, and you know what I would have done if it did get that bad? I would have looked at the closest security camera and given it a wide-eyed half grin.

Here is a clip from one of my favorite episodes!

Oh, Dwight and Jim!

So, yeah, I will internet hunt in my spare time today. Be back later!

Epic Mickey Set To Rock My Socks!!

Make fun of me all you want, I find Steampunk tolerable, enjoyable even, and I love Kingdom Heart! So, when I heard about the Disney, Steampunk-style Wii game currently title "Epic Mickey" (I mean, hopefully that will change), I got pretty excited! Check out these pics (You can click on them to make them bigger), and travel to this page for more! I just hope this game lives up to expectations...or maybe I just shouldn't have any...

And By Soon...I Mean Now!

I love the Halo Universe, and Halo 3: ODST looks amazing!

Kotaku has the first video documentary for the game on its site. Apparently Halo 3: ODST will be staring non other than Malcolm Reynolds himself, Nathan Fillion. SO EXCITED!!!

Please, click the link and enjoy!

Not A Lot of Activity...

Yeah...Things have been crazy. Hopefully I will get back to the updating soon.

Halo Legends Pics and Such! So excited!

I am building my bunker now!! Soon the pipes will be no place for a man valuing his life...

I don't know much about 4chan, except that I don't want to mess with or be on the bad side of the guys that hang out in those sections of the tubes! So, when AT&T blocks its subscribers from accessing parts of 4chan...well, one can only assume that this will start WWIII...

Maybe...since AT&T has since restored access to 4chan. However, you don't mess with a hacker's home and not expect retaliation, just like to don't mess with Liam Neeson's daughter and expect to get out unscathed.

So, who knows how this will unfold? Not me, but I am going to keep an eye out...

(BTW, this picture is not my doing, but is sooooo awesome I had to post it!)

Holy Shit!!! WHY AM I NOT AT COMIC-CON?!?!?!

AMAZINGNESS!!!

These costumes range from FREAKING SWEET! to HILARIOUS! (for one reason of another). Check them out!

Your Favorite Motley Crew from the 70's

I was watching That 70's Show and decided to calculate how old each character was when they filmed the 1998 episode I was watching.

Topher Grace (Eric): 20 years old

Laura Prepon (Donna): 18 years old

Ashton Kutcher (Kelso): 20 years old

Danny Masterson (Hyde): 22 years old

Wilmer Valderrama (F.E.S.): 18 years old

&

Mila Kunis (Jackie): 15 years old

Wow! I knew Ms. Kunis was younger that the others, but that is crazy!

In addition: HOLY SHIT!!!! I had no idea Mila Kunis is dating Macaulay Culkin!

It is an insane world indeed! Ha!

Poop on Twitter!!

Hey!!! There is a BRILLIANT site that tacks how many times people talk about poop on twitter and compares that to the number of times other, less important, things (like world peace) are mentioned! Check it out!

Enjoy These Funny Mugs! :)

LAME!!

So, After Halo: Reach, Bungie is hanging up their boots, taking off their armor, and dismantling their Carbine rifles. Yep, no more Halo from Bungie...

It is sad! What's sadder is that Microsoft has partial dibs on the Halo franchise and may produce more, non-Bungie Halo titles. Who knows what they will do with Master Chief?!

Sigh...Well, here's to hoping for the best and to looking forward to the next (assuredly awesome) project from Bungie.

Lazy Day...

Things I have done today:

1. Tutor

2. Play guitar

3. Play video games

4. Nap

Productive? Not really. A good summer Friday? I'd say so.

In a small West Sussex school...

Scene: A school in Britain, early morning. The air outside is crisp and fresh, yet the fog has only started to lift. In the teachers' lounge sits Bill, a young, frustrated teacher of Mathematics and Literature (he is an extremely intelligent man, and this is a small school), and across the table is Franklin, reading the paper, keeping his eccentric thoughts to himself...He was feeling personal this morning; it would take a nice push for him to reveal his daring ideas on how to fix the drudge of filth he continually reads in the post...

"Hey...How do we get our students to liven up?," inquires Bill. It had been on his mind since he started teaching at Southway Junior School last month. He was full of youthful optimism and truly wanted to help the kids. "Little Steve falls asleep after lunch everyday! And Julie gives me blank stairs ALL the time during lecture. I mean...her eyes are dead, Frank. They're dead. Is there anything we can do to make them more imaginative?"

It was at this point Franklin stopped reading the paper, closed his eyes, and eventually stated, "Hmm...Possibly, Bill. But what?" Frank's eyes began to move wildly in his head. Bill had never seen anyone enter REM while he or she was awake. It was fascinating...yet frightful. "Wait! By George, I have it," yelled Franklin. He had never held such pleasure in his spirit prior that moment. He let loose. His ideas flew forth from his mouth like the Thames flows in all its magnificence through the channels of London. "Let us fake an alien invasion on campus!!!!!! We can set up a spaceship crash landing and fake the abduction of a teacher! Let me ask the police if this is a good idea...*ring ring* Sergeant? Hello, This is Franklin Wellington, from Southway Junior School! I am just fine! I have an idea to run by you! To liven up our students' spirits, we want to convince them that aliens have landed in the schoolyard and kidnapped, possibly killed, one of their teachers? Yeah...Yeah...Great! So you will help? Brilliant!! See you next week! Well, Bill...We have a spaceship to build!"

Yeah...I am not sure if this is how it all started, but I jest not...

Another reason to love New Zealand!

It gave us the beautiful scenery in The Lord of the Rings, and it provided us with the brilliance of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. And now your favorite place that's not going anywhere gives us the next coolest mode of transportation. It is called the Shweeb. Check it out:

(Stupid blog cuts the picture off. Click on it for the full image!)

The New York Times yesterday published an article looking at the relationship between Hollywood and the Video Game Industry. They also highlighted a few project where the game companies, in this case Microsoft and Ubisoft took matters in to there own hands, producing the Anime "Halo Legends" and 3 short films based on Assassin's Creed II. Halo Legend will be in the spirit of the Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Night, featuring seven short Halo films! So cool!! I don't care so much about the Assassin's Creed stuff, so you can read that stuff if you want!

I WANT TO GO TO THERE...

PEGAO!!

Yep, Tutoring three times today. I will be done at 1 pm. Then I MUST do laundry and cook the food I have left. (I will NOT fall prey to BK again! I got off relatively unharmed this time...but eating at BK is like playing with fire, or more actually, playing with uncontrollable, explosive BM. Too gross? I apologize?) So, yeah, pasta for me tonight!

I am excited about tomorrow. I am not tutoring, and I am heading to the Honors College to play guitar for Denise and Kelly! Ever since I told them I was learning guitar, they have wanted me to come in! It is going to be fun!

Well, off to search the internetz for cool shit!

Had a great night talking with Melissa! Too tired to write much more!

I will post some more stuff tomorrow!

Hmmm...

I had Burger King for dinner...yeah. The Veggie Burgers are good, but maybe I should have skipped the fries and soda. Tomorrow, I should cook. Broccoli Parmesan Pasta or traditional Pasta with Tomato Sauce? Hmmm.

Pretty Awesome! Pretty Cute!

I enjoy innovative technology; I enjoy cute innovative technology even more! Check this out!

Yes, this is a Popsicle Hard Drive, USB Jump Drive set! Korean in design, the jump drive transfers backs up its data to the hard drive whenever it is inserted.

It will even come it different "flavors" which signify different hard drive sizes!

I am not sure when, or if, these superb pieces of tech are coming Stateside, but let us all cross our fingers!

Go On A Journey Through Time And Space...

YES!!!!! The Mighty Boosh is now in NTSC!!! Check it out!

Now...I just may have to splurge on all three seasons...

If you are a fan of 17 Again...

I loved 17 Again. When Zac Efron isn't cast as a boisterous adolescent with freshly dropped testicles, wanting nothing but to sing his troubles away at school, he is actually pretty funny. So here, enjoy this Funny or Die skit, packed full of celebrities and comedians!

Nihon no Harry

I love Japan (one of my best friends lives there), and I enjoy Harry Potter, so I find this adorable, hilarious, and awesome. Apparently this kawaii Japanese girl won a contest to meet Daniel Radcliffe. I had no idea Harry Potter was so popular in Japan (the nerd rage epidemic is more widespread then I thought...). But, please enjoy: this video is so endearing, it is almost unbearable!

Graduate School

So, yeah...I start grad school soon...I also start conversations with "So, yeah..." a lot. Hmmm...

Anyway, Being a GTA (Graduate Teaching Assistant, for those of you who are now wrongly think I commit felonies for a living) will be exciting, but lots of work....

So, for now, while I have free time, I am going to work on the blog-a-ma-what's-it, and do other cool stuff, like draw and (try to) write music! Oh, and I am going to work on the lame GTA quizzes I have to do. (Blurg!)

Well, I should be back with cool posts later!

^_^

Real quick...before bed...WANT!!!!

Cinema and the Stars!

So, I knew about Riff Trax for a while, but I always (for some idiotic reason) shrugged it off. Thank you Anthony for reminding me of it! It features the guys from the later years of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K), and is AMAZING!!! You purchase their dialog, consisting of hilarious comments, and--in doing so--instantly improve many movies infinitely. Tonight, a group of us watched Transformers with Riff Trax, and I had never been so happy in my life as when Bill Corbett went off on a Megan Fox rant (I don't particularly care for her, by the way; though, I find her hilarious). So, the work they do over at Riff Trax is superb and it is definitely worth the money. You should definitely lay down the dough. The laugh to cash ratio is gargantuan, is what I am trying to say.

Yeah, so now that I am done advertising, I want to also say I had a great time at the observatory tonight. Everyone is awesome, and I glad they could come out! I got to see Saturn and its ring(s)...it was kinda blurry...and a few nebulae! Nate even let me find the Dumbbell Nebula with telescope! I also got some pics from the party!! Some of the highlights:

And, for the hell of it, this wasn't taken at the observatory, but here you go

Those are my resident kittehs: Squall (left) and Yuna (right)!

So, there you go, that was my night! Good times!

Be back later, after sleep.

Just Checking

Just checking to see if I can embed a YouTube video straight into an entry. If it works, enjoy this wonderful gift from the internet:

Observing!

So, yeah, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in physics, specialization astronomy. (Pretty impressive, huh? No? Okay, then.) With that said, I only know so much about observational astronomy beyond how to distinguish a planet ("Holy shit, that's Jupiter! Sweet!") from a star (Betelgeuse is a red supergiant...and if you say it's name three times, Michael Keaton will come and look at stars with you!). So tonight, I am going to a get together at the observatory, where we are going to watch a movie and look at some stars! Maybe I will remember some stuff about my undergraduate career and surprise myself, or I will forget about all that nonsense and just enjoy myself! Pics later!

So...

...I made this blog in hopes of sharing cool links, as well as my art and music and such (though I should probably copyright everything before I upload it...hmm). I might even complain or boast about my personal life...maybe. If I start doing that, you may beg me to stop. So yeah, keep checking for awesome links and some of my creative stuff!

See ya!
